This is one story that made me very happy. In the winter of 2012 Barney went missing from his home while his family was away on vacation. He was spotted a number of times but nobody including his family could get close to him, he was that terrified. 18 days later I was contacted by a member of my For the Love of Dogs group. She asked me if I had heard of Barney's story. I said I had. She said that he was spotted again and the family saw him but could not get close, she was wondering if I could help. I contacted the owners and while that night Barney had disappeared again, we developed a plan. A couple of more days went by in which there were no sightings and the snow hit hard. The area that he was spotted in was close to my house. I kept going to the area to look. The afternoon that I found and caught him I drove into the area through the snow drifts and was lucky enough to spot him. I followed him about 2 miles in over the power line trails bidding my time and waiting for a break. Finally he got bogged down in some snow so I ran up to him, tossed my jacket over him and brought him out to be reunited with a very happy family and a very relieved public. VOCM did a number of spots on this…here is one of the articles: family reunited
