So I have had some holidays and had Rupert and Jewel at my cabin for a couple of nights to see what they were like in a home setting and they did remarkably well. Both Jewel and Rupert warmed up to new people pretty quickly, once they were around anyone for a little time they adjusted and were seeking their attention. As long as everything was slow(controlled) and at their pace for meeting new people all was perfect and before I knew it they were giving kisses and looking for a few scratches. It was a pleasure to see They are definitely learning that people aren't something to be so fearful and nervous of and are getting more comfortable with each new person they meet. I had no problems with any accidents in the house and unless invited they stayed on the floor, the only issue was some counter surfing and we worked a bit on that and really that is a pretty minor problem to solve. Rupert is getting much more gentle taking treats from people now and really is just a happy goofball who LOVES to play. Jewel was always pretty good with taking treats and is a happy girl, she just loves new things and adventures but she is definitely not doing as well as Rupert with all this so hopefully someone will step up to help them soon!!!! They will be doing some more obedience classes this week so stay tuned for hopefully some more news on their improvements I know they will make some person sooooooooo incredibly happy I just can't wait to find them!!!!!
